CeraVe isn't cruelty-free, and neither is their parent company L'Oréal. Interestingly, whilst they aren't vegan, their UK site is.

A brand may not necessarily test on animals itself. But members of it’s supply chain may do and as such it cannot be considered truly cruelty-free.
Technically Simple are cruelty-free as they don't test on animals or currently sell in any markets that require animal testing. But that may be subject to change and we will be keeping a very close eye on Simple
Aveeno isn't cruelty-free as it sells in mainland China, so at best its complicit in post-market testing. As is its parent company Johnson & Johnson.
Whilst we aren't sure if Caudalie (or their suppliers) test ingredients or finished products on animals, they sell in mainland China and as such aren't cruelty-free.
No Avene is neither cruelty-free nor vegan. It sells products in China and cannot guarantee its products don't contain animal byproducts.
Whilst Vaseline technically don't use any animal derived ingredients in their products, it sells products in China so isn't cruelty-free or, by our definition, vegan.
Nivea isn't cruelty-free in 2021 because they sell their products in mainland China and other countries where animal testing is required by law.
Elemis used to be cruelty-free, but as of February 2021 they're selling their products in mainland China so are complicit with animal testing.
Neutrogena, one of the world's largest skincare brands, isn't cruelty-free as it sells products in China inheriting its parent company's policy.
Olay isn't cruelty-free because it sells in multiple countries where animal testing is required by law, much like its parent company, P&G.
No Cetaphil isn't cruelty free in 2021. It claims it doesn't test on animals, but by selling in China it is complicit with animal testing.
As of August 2021 it is unclear whether Sanex are cruelty-free. It claims to not test on animals, but there's no clarity about whether its products are sold in China.
