Whilst Bioderma claims it isn’t complicit in animal testing, it acknowledges that when regulatory bodies require animal testing for products to enter the market, the brand allows it to happen.

Is Bioderma sold in China?
Yes Bioderma sells products in mainland China. Bioderma has a huge international presence and sells products in dozens of countries worldwide. Including China.
And selling imported cosmetics in China still puts products at risk of being tested on animals in pre or post market.
Whilst we cannot now claim that countries involved in selling products in China can be cruelty-free, China’s animal testing policy is no longer as black and white is it seemed.
Is Bioderma Vegan?
Bioderma is not a vegan brand. Whilst it has some products that are free-from animal byproducts, the brand is not free-from animal ingredients.
And as it is not cruelty-free, it cannot be considered vegan.

Secondly the ingredient-list for many products contains undisclosed levels of chemical fragrance, chemical sunscreen that is toxic to marine life and petroleum-based silicone. Amongst many other potentially harmful ingredients.
Bioderma’s micellar water is not vegan because the brand is complicit in animal testing worldwide as it sells products in China.
