Yes Method is vegan. They don’t put any animal by-products in their products as they use innovations like renewable plant-based fabric softeners.

Company History
Method was first conceived (as an idea) in 2000, as the founders dreamed of eco-friendly cleaning products you didn’t need to hide under your sink. And just a year later Method was born.
Over the years Method became one of the fastest growing private companies in America and began launching truly eco-friendly product lines.
In 2012, Method and Ecover joined forces. – Method was essentially acquired by Ecover. But they operate as largely separate entities to create planet-friendly cleaning products. In 2018 they were both acquired by SC Johnson.
Method’s Ethical FAQs
Yes Method’s products are paraben-free. Parabens are on their dirty list and as such would never be used in their products.
Yes Method’s packaging is recycled and recyclable. They make their core cleaning bottles from 100% recycled plastic, their laundry bottles from 50% recycled plastic and the vast majority of their formulations come from renewably sourced ingredients.
They do contain palm oil, but Method are a member of RSPO – the roundtable on sustainable palm oil – and we purchase RSPO certified palm oil and palm kernel oil to account for all palm oil used in our products.
Yes, all Method’s products are GMO-free.
Yes. Or at least they’re on the right track. Method have a biodiesel shipping program that powers 1/3 of their US shipments. And the energy needed to make their products comes from a range of sources, including: solar, hydro, coal, gas and on-site renewable energy (from wind and solar) will help power their new Chicago factory.
And for the unavoidable carbon emissions, they make investments that make their supply chain more efficient, by offering financial incentives to their suppliers so they can invest in more energy-efficient equipment or lighting.
Method cleaning products are ‘non-toxic’ (unless you decide to do something zany like burn them), do not give off harmful vapours and are ok for use around children, pets and pregnant women.
