Is Ren Cruelty-Free?
Yes, REN skincare is certified as cruelty free. REN provide its own guarantee that all products and ingredients are cruelty free, and they are also certified by PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies scheme.
Is REN Vegan?
REN has a number of vegan products, but the whole range isn’t vegan. It is committed to expanding its vegan range. Vegan products are clearly labelled on the website.
REN Overview
REN’s strapline is ‘clean to skin, clean to planet’. So if you’re looking for a clean skincare brand, this could be the one for you.
All products are made here in the UK, and the range is sold online and – as I discovered recently – in certain M&S stores too! For me, the stand out product is the daily facial SPF – it’s mattifying (which is very useful) and is reef-safe, making it kind to the planet.
The skincare range is innovative and wide-ranging: sensitive, oily, dry are all covered, with everything in between.
Ren’s Product Range
- Facial skincare: serums, cleansers, moisturisers, toners and exfoliators
- Body skincare: moisturiser, oils and bathing
- Haircare: shampoo and conditioner
Ren’s Hero Product
Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 is a stand-out, and one for the planet lovers. This SPF is mattifying (unlike most SPFs), and suitable for sensitive skin. Chemical UV filter-free and bolstered with skin-loving ingredients, this is a top tier daily SPF.
What else do we love about REN?
While it still uses plastic, it is committed to recycling. Each product tells you its recycled and recyclable properties.
REN Skincare’s Company History
REN was launched by two friends back in 2000. Hailing from East London, the brand was born to provide an effective clean skincare range for the world. REN is now owned by Unilever (acquired in 2015), who are considered the ‘parent company’.
