Is Milk Makeup a Clean Beauty Brand?

It depends how you define clean beauty. But, it has a clean beauty certification by Sephora. Along with that it is:

  • Working towards 80% naturally derived formulations
  • Free-from >2500 potentially harmful, synthetic preservatives and chemicals

So, overall, we’d say it’s pretty clean.

Milk Makeup’s Product Range

The product range isn’t huge. But, it is excellent.

What is Milk Makeup’s Hero Product?

Hydro Grip Primer

The Hydro Grip Primer is an award-winning, moisturising face primer with a 94% naturally derived formula.

It goes without saying that it is vegan and cruelty-free. However, it is also free-from parabens, sulfates, silicone, mineral oils and fragrance.

Suitable for all skin-types. Particularly recommended for normal-dry skin – this primer has been proven to *almost* instantly make your skin glow, feel more hydrated and make makeup last significantly longer. Nice.

Is Milk Makeup Eco-Friendly?

As beauty brands go Milk Makeup is in the top tier for eco-friendly practices. So much so, it has a page detailing the brand’s sustainability commitments that include:

  • Packaging that is (almost) 100% recyclable – sans adhesive tape
  • Petroleum-free, plant-based ink
  • Removed the use of leaflets
  • Outer packaging which is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified
  • In 2020 the launch of a new product display system reduced plastic consumption by 63%

Added bonus: the more recent introduction of refillable products is a nice touch. So is the transparency and availability of these statistics and promises.
