Best Vegan & Cruelty Free Grooming Products for Men in 2021

Update, November 2021: We have removed Seven Potions from our cruelty-free products list. This is because we found certain shaving brushes were made using boar hair, which goes against our cruelty-free standards.

Until pretty recently I would’ve described my bathroom as a toilet. Just a toilet. And how wrong I was.

You see, I was misinterpreting the possibilities associated with a bathroom. You only get out what you put into it. If your bathroom is sparsely populated with toilet roll, a toothbrush and shower gel, there’s a pretty low ceiling to what can be achieved.

But when you open your mind to the world of cruelty free products available to men, your bathroom can take on a form of its own. A living breathing organism that morphs into a little piece of you. A little piece of you with a door lock.

These are the best cruelty free products for men I have used – so there aren’t loads of products, but as I try more I will be able to expand and improve the page. But it’s more important to us we have tried everything.

Whilst I’m aware travel sets are a little meaningless in 2021 (sorry), I think it’s safe to assume we will be allowed to fly somewhere again someday.

Bulldog’s Bamboo Razor

Finally Bulldog’s Bamboo Razor is just an excellent, reusable shaving option.

Whilst I absolutely cannot get behind their attempt at branding this product (the tagline is check it, less plastic & ting – awful).

Anything you can do to reduce your plastic consumption is a step in the right direction.

We’d recommend stocking up on some spare blades and a razor stand too.

Neal’s Yard: Invigorating Hair & Body Wash for Men

I am not normally a patron of Neal’s Yard. I’d say it’s a little on the premium side for my taste.

But I was gifted their Invigorating Hair and Body Wash last Christmas and I love it. Grapefruit is bloody terrific in body and hair washing products.

It’s cleansing, revitalising, but gentle.

Sort of like Home Alone or a Snoopy comic strip.

Bulldog’s Original (but updated) Shower Gel

Look, it’s a bit dull, but you always need a good shower gel.

I used to work for a far-too-premium perfume company and there was always a lot of confusing chatter about top notes and base notes. At the time, all over my head.

But Bulldog’s Shower Gel’s citrusy top notes alongside the woody (?) base notes remind me so much of being completely out of my depth at work.

Mancave Caffeine Shampoo

I was always a little sceptical of caffeine shampoo. I like coffee sure, but not in my hair.

However, there have been multiple studies that highlight how caffeine can; stimulate hair shaft elongation (oi oi!), creates longer, wider hair roots and can even reduce grey hair.

Aren’t stimulants incredible.

And Mancave’s all-natural, cruelty-free shampoo is packed with shea butter – moisturising properties – and l-arginine – which strengthens individual follicles. Plus it smells fantastic!

And I was equally sceptical about shampoo bars. But actually the quality of the products

Faith in Nature creates really took me by surprise. The Argan and Shea Bar is my personal favourite.

I knew the environmental benefits were great. The lack of packaging – particularly plastics – for one.

But I thought using a soap-like bar just wouldn’t nourish or clean my hair like I needed it to. Which, on further inspection, is wrong.

And this is part of FiN’s zero waste range. The packaging is 100% recycled and recyclable, which is absolutely perfect for 2021.

Mancave’s Eucalyptus Deodorant

Mancave’s Eucalyptus Deodorant utilises all-natural ingredients – coconut oil, eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil and lemon oil – to moisturise the skin and provide an uplifting, all-natural anti-bacterial agent against odour without the classic deodorant burn.

I do find that ‘normal’ deodorant burns my armpits. And I just stuck with it for a while because I didn’t think there were many alternatives that work.

Natural Deodorant Co’s Deodorant Balm is another all-natural, chemical-free deodorant. But in balm form. Which is very new to us too.

The balm format has such a soothing texture. And – when applied to your skin – almost melts away.

And I don’t know why but I’ve always loved cedarwood. It’s a musky, woody scent that smells overwhelmingly masculine.

Mancave’s Intense Hydration Moisturiser

I have recently come round to using moisturisers. As the cold, dry air associated with winter months come in – and as I’ve recently hit 30 – I try to take better care of myself.
