All products are vegetarian, but Lush is not 100% are vegan.
There is a vegan range and this is growing all the time (currently around 85% of products are vegan).

If you have a bath, you have to treat yourself to one of their bathbombs – they’re full of fizz, colour and aroma.
Our favourite product, though, is the ‘bb seaweed’ face mask. It has big, chunky bits of seaweed in and it’s cooling and calming on the skin – really good for sensitive skin.
What else do we love about Lush?
They have a whole section on their website dedicated to their policies and causes. But some important ones to note are: everything is handmade, ethical buying and naked packaging.
Lush Company History
Lush was formed after the founders’ first company went under (‘Cosmetics to go’). They learnt lessons and focused on making Lush a simple brand – no expensive packaging or shopfronts, just quality ingredients.
Lush Cosmetics was founded in 1995 and has steadily grown into one of the UK’s most prominent cosmetics brands, with founders Mark and Mo Constantine being awarded an OBE for services to the beauty industry in the 2010 New Year’s Honours list.

Yes Lush is vegetarian.
No not entirely – it is working towards eliminating all synthetic preservatives, but it still uses some parabens and sulfates where and when it feels necessary.
No Lush isn’t palm oil free, but it’s working towards that status. The palm oil Lush does use is sustainable however.
The majority of its packaging is recyclable – 90% – and it claims to be working on the remaining 10%. It’s working towards a 100% reused, recyclable and compostable status.
Lush do not test on animals. It never has and a brand and – we hope never will
Whilst China’s animal testing policies have changed in recent years, LUSH does not sell any products in the Chinese market.
Or any market where animal testing could be mandated by law.
Yes LUSH is a largely ethical brand.
On top of being cruelty-free and – largely – vegan, LUSH has some pretty strong ethical principles to stands behind.
Supporting fair trade and community initiatives around the world. Getting ingredients or products directly form the source. Consistently seeking to improve its packaging and plastic usage.
