Is Neal’s Yard Vegan?

Neal’s Yard is not 100% vegan because some products contain:

  • Organic honey

  • Propolis – a resin-like material made by bees primarily used to make hives

Albeit sustainably sourced. It is also worth noting here that Neal’s Yard do have a dairy where they produce and sell its own cheese.

Is Neal’s Yard Ethical?

Yes Neal’s Yard’s ethics are pretty standout.

From using 100% renewable energy – through a combination of its own solar panel facility and renewable energy from the grid – protecting the habitats of endangered species throughout the world and even recycling waste water to reuse, Neal’s Yard are a highly sustainable, ethical brand.

The attention to detail and unwillingness to compromise on supplier transparency and quality is a must for larger brands seeking to clarify cruelty-free status.

So the independent supply chain audits suggest an uncompromising tone.

And by offsetting GHG emissions regularly, NY has been a certified carbon neutral company since 2008. The first high street retailer to achieve the status.

What else do we love about Neal’s Yard?

Ethically it is a standout brand. Over the years Neal’s Yard have made huge strides in standing up for animal welfare, protecting the planet and utilising sustainable practices.

From using carbon balanced, FSC and PEFC certified packaging*, recycling more than 20% of the water at the water recycling factory to supporting the declining UK bee population. Neal’s Yard have dedicated a huge amount of resources into sustainable practices.

And personally Neal’s Yard was one of the first to offer male-specific skincare products.
