Is KVD Beauty an Ethical Brand?
Yes KVD Vegan Beauty is quite an ethical brand.
For starters the brand is vegan and certified cruelty-free.
The products themselves are free-from potentially toxic synthetic preservatives and foaming agents including parabens, sulfates, phthalates and nickel.
When products are free-from this generally indicates a couple of positive things.
- Reduced risk of runoff into delicate ecosystems
- Reduced chemical emissions in the manufacturing process
However the products are not talc-free. Whilst talc is generally considered safe for use, there have been various instances of asbestos tainted products containing talc throughout the years.
Packaging wise, the majority of the products come in fully recyclable packaging. And in 2020 the brand launched its first ever 100% recyclable makeup palette. A feat that is quite tricky to achieve.
However the company has yet to utilise PCR or recycled materials in its packaging and although a sustainable revamp is underway there’s work to do.
