Charlotte Tilbury is cruelty-free. Its products are not tested on animals, and the brand doesn’t work with any suppliers who may do the same.
However it has recently lost its cruelty-free status on lots of sites because in 2020 they opened a pop-up store in China where it gives out samples.
As there are no products available for physical purchase in China (everyone is directed to the website), CT cap tap into the Chinese market, without testing on animals . They’ve found a loophole and they’ve used it effectively!
Charlotte Tilbury also features in the best cruelty-free makeup companies.
Is Charlotte Tilbury vegan?
Charlotte Tilbury is not entirely vegan, but there is a vegan range. Every product on the website has the full ingredients list, so everything is very transparent.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Hero Product
We’d recommend the ‘magic foundation’ which features in our best foundations 2020 list.
It’s not exactly cheap (£34), but it gives an excellent finish, hydrates the skin, and is truly a quality foundation. It’s also part of their vegan range!
What else do we love about Charlotte Tilbury?
The product quality. Its years of market experience really add up and as a luxury skincare solution it sits right at the top of the tree.
Our issue with CT is the lack of focus on recyclable packaging or sustainability.
