Is Tropic an Ethical Brand?
Tropic is a multi-award winning cosmetics and makeup company that creates products that are freshly made in the UK. All of which are certified vegan and cruelty-free. Which is an excellent start ethically.
The products are made using unique natural ingredients sought from the tropics around the world. Hence the name.
And the products are all free-from palm-oil – and all of its derivatives – which is very rare in the skincare industry. If you look closely enough, you’ll see the products don’t even contain any microbeads. Equally rare.
Whilst Tropic isn’t an entirely certified organic company, some of its products are Cosmos Certified Organic. This helps reduce agricultural emissions and in the storing of carbon in the soil.

Tropic’s company history
Susie Ma is the founder of Tropic. She was inspired by her tropical surroundings growing up in Cairns, and by her grandmother who was a medical chemist and toxicologist who advised the skin needs nourishing just as much as the body.
Susie featured in the Apprentice and secured investment from Lord Sugar who now owns a stake in the business.
