Yes, Trinny London is cruelty-free. This means the brand doesn’t test ingredients or products on animals itself. It also means it doesn’t work with suppliers who may do or sell in countries where animal testing may be required by law.
Trinny London doesn’t have official cruelty free certification from a professional body yet. However, it provides study guarantees on its site that it is cruelty free.
The brand does usually have some deals or vouchers that are worth checking out before you purchase anything.
Is Trinny London Vegan?
Whilst Trinny London is cruelty-free, it is not entirely vegan. Some products are vegan, however, you should always check the label.
There are a number of products that contain ingredients including:
- Beeswax
- Propolis
- Carmine
You can find this list of products here.
Is Trinny London Eco-Friendly?
It’s definitely getting there. Packaging has been the main area of focus and improvement.
On the brand’s sustainable packaging page, there are initiatives to reduce the company’s carbon footprint. One we particularly like is sourcing locally to minimise ingredient miles.
- The cardboard transit packaging is 100% recyclable
- Eco-friendly, plastic-free ink
- The iconic stackable pots are re-usable
Trinny London’s Hero Product
Trinny’s BFF Cream is a skin perfecter that is perfect for light, buildable coverage.
However, it’s powerful. With SPF 30, the active ingredients promote healthy looking, glowing skin while reducing redness (yay).
So, we think, this premium product is well worth the £35.
Trinny London’s Product Range
What else do we love about Trinny London?
The portable nature of the products. Wait, aren’t all products portable? Well yes, but each of Trinny’s has a ‘clickable’ T-pot known as the stack.
The stack snaps together in a smart system. So, this allows you to clip all manner of products together in completely sealed, transportable containers.
This range is for the ‘mature’ market, which we love. By that, we mean the focus is on quality products that solve common problems for women who are 30+. What kind of things are we talking about here? Redness, wrinkles, dry skin, and all the rest.
But, this isn’t a brand that feels ‘old’ – it’s empowering and effective.
Trinny London Ethical FAQs
Trinny London is owned by Trinny Woodall – one half of Trinny and Susannah – an English TV presenter and fashion / makeover expert.
Trinny London creates products that are suitable for acne prone skin. And because the whole range is cream-based, rather than oil, it doesn’t contribute to the build up of sebum.
For example, the new (ish) Tinted Serum is designed for buildable, breathable coverage. Preventing the blockage of pores and the buildup of sebum.
Yes Trinny London is oil-free. The entire range is cream-based, rather than oil-based.
Cream-based products are easier to build and provide the best natural makeup look.
Yes Trinny London’s BFF is non-comedogenic.
This means it won’t block pores and shouldn’t add to the buildup of sebum, preventing acne.
While Trinny London wouldn’t be considered a completely ‘clean’ beauty brand – one product contains parabens – it is completely cruelty-free, primarily vegan and almost entirely unnecessary synthetic chemical or ingredient free.
Trinny London’s packaging is primarily recyclable, although the majority is not made from recycled materials.
In 2020 the brand was looking into creating an ‘opt-out’ option for packaging at the checkout, but it doesn’t look as if that has been implemented for orders under £150.
However the cardboard transit packaging is 100% recyclable, using biodegradable and sustainably sourced board with plastic-free, ocean-friendly inks.
Trinny London products are exclusively made in Italy.
With the exception of the Miracle Blur all Trinny London products are paraben-free.
